Visioning Architecture

Visioning Architecture is a 10-day intensive immersion into visualization techniques for architecture, where rich processes supplant mere production.  We interweave film, hand drawing, audio, constructions, and digital drawing.

Visioning Architecture is the only AA Visiting School that takes place in London.  We take full advantage of the riches of the AA premises in Bedford Square WC1, and its central London setting just a stone’s through from the British Museum, Soho, St. Giles and the Thames River.

The programme made its debut as new Unit 1 of the AA Summer School 2011.  The sixteen participants achieved extraordinary collaborations, learning to see in new ways as they developed new ways to let drawing synthesize their experiences and communicate their ideas.

Not only do I draw better, …but my attitude to architecture has changed.  It is like I have swallowed a bomb, and now it has exploded… Amen!“  – Maya L.

Thank you again for every wonderful moment Unit 1 spent together with you, your teachings and our wanderings around London were unforgettable.  I am sure that this great professional moment I’m going through is greatly due to the time I spent with you guys in London, and for that I feel very grateful.  What a great experience!“  – Ian D.L.
